Ram Temple Donation Controversy Escalates as Ashok Gehlot Alleges Donation Misuse and Land Scam
Ashok Gehlot has alleged that the Ram Temple donation controversy involving claims of donation misuse and land irregularities has reached villages across India. He said people’s faith was hurt and claimed that new revelations are emerging despite earlier attempts to suppress the issue.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Gehlot said that extensive campaigns and nationwide journeys were conducted over the Ram Temple issue, which helped create a favourable atmosphere and contributed to the rise of the current government.
Gehlot alleged that the alleged misuse of donations has hurt the religious sentiments of people who contributed money for temple construction out of faith and personal devotion. He said people donated according to their capacity with the belief that their contributions would support the temple project.
Referring to the early formation of the trust, Gehlot said that during the tenure of former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, saints and religious leaders were initially included in the trust. However, he alleged that later the trust was reconstituted with members associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and VHP.
He further alleged that these members suppressed the issue of donation misuse, but new revelations are emerging regularly.
The allegations have added fresh intensity to the ongoing political debate over the management of donations and land-related matters connected with the Ram Temple project.
